Oscar is a professional/electrical engineer.  He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech in 1977 and Masters of Science in Information Systems Management at George Washington University in 1987.

He first joined Toastmasters because he noticed people were getting bored during his technical presentations.  Things improved significantly after he learned techniques from Toastmasters on how to connect better with the audience such as start with an attention grabbing introduction, get to the point, eliminate jargon, use eye contact, vocal variety and concluding with something the audience will remember.

Oscar believes that everyone, no matter who, has greatness potential and something good to offer. A positive remark or encouragement can light that spark to empower others to reach that potential.  He wants you to help you achieve success hence his theme – “What’s in it for me ……. is you”.

Who's qualified already?
