Toastmaster of the Year

Nominations for 2008-2009 Toastmaster of the Year, Division Governor of the Year, Area Governor of the Year, Club President of the Year, and Club VPE of the Year will be accepted until Sept. 25.

Submit the name of your nominee and the role for which you are nominating them. Include a checklist of why you are nominating this candidate and up to 250 written words of support. Include nominees’ first and last name and club number. Nominees must be a member in good standing in a club in good standing in District 18.

Awardees will be selected on the following criteria:

  • Attitude
  • Personal growth
  • Metrics of success achieved during term of service during the 2008-09 year
  • Support and fulfillment of Toastmasters International’s core values:
    • Integrity
    • Dedication to excellence
    • Service to the member
    • Respect for the individual
  • Support and fulfillment of the Mission of District 18 (Toastmaster, Division, and Area Governors only):
    • The mission of the district is to enhance the performance and extend the network of clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program by:
    • Focusing on the critical success factors as specified by the district educational and membership goals.
    • Ensuring that each club effectively fulfills its responsibilities to its members.
    • Providing effective training and leadership development opportunities for club and district officers.
  • Support and fulfillment of the Mission of the Club (Toastmaster, President, and VPE only):
    • The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
