Nominating District Officers

Your district leaders are elected each year during the District Council meeting at the Spring District 18 Conference. This year's conference will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Columbia, Maryland. The deadline for submitting nominations for a district leadership position for the 2012-2013 Toastmasters year is Saturday, February 18, 2012. Read the information below and follow the instructions for completing the required forms.

All candidates for elective office must complete, sign, and submit
the three documents listed below by Feburary 18, 2012.
1. SIGNED OFFICER AGREEMENT AND RELEASE STATEMENT
Toastmasters International requires that any candidates running for and/or holding office, whether elected or appointed, agree to and sign the Officer Agreement and Release Statement.
2. SIGNED DISTRICT 18 LEADER NOMINATING FORM
Complete and sign this form for each office for which you wish to be considered. If you are nominating someone, you must submit a form for each person you wish to nominate for each position. Allow enough time for the committee to contact the nominee and obtain required consent and signed documents.

To be nominated or elected, a person must be a member in good standing of a Toastmaster club in good standing, meet the qualifications of the position, consent to being nominated and must sign the Signed Officer Agreement and Release Statement. See Form 1 above.
3. CANDIDATE'S LETTER OF INTENT
Submit a signed letter to the Nominating Committee explaining your reasons for running for elective office; how your Toastmasters experience has prepared you to serve in this role; and what you hope to accomplish in this role.

This letter is an opportunity to introduce yourself to the committee, to add information about your qualifications for office, to discuss your vision for your role in that office, or information of your choice. You may use the template provided or a similar format of your choice.
