Kevin F. Spalding

 

He has a long and impressive background in leadership and communications.  A resident of Arnold, MD, he currently works in Organ-izational Change Management with a large Navy business computer systems program.  Mr. Spalding is a former Eagle Scout, has a B.S. in Biology from Penn State University and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from West Coast University.  He is also soon-to-be a retired U.S. Naval Reserve Captain.

Mr. Spalding grew his public speaking credentials within Toastmaster’s International, an organization committed to helping its members improve their communications and leadership skills.  Each year Toastmasters International sponsors a world championship of public speaking.  This year, in 2005, Mr. Spalding placed third in the Region VII international speech contest among eight competitors. Region VII covers the entire North East US and Maritime provinces of Canada.  Had he won that contest, he would have been one of the ten international finalists for the title of World Champion of Public Speaking.
 

Types of speeches:   Motivational Keynote

Title of speech or topic: “The Seven C’s Of Leadership”

Brief summary:  Covers the essence of leadership distilled to seven aspects:  Character, Clarity of Vision, Commitment, Competence, Confidence and Caring for Those lead and Communication.  Examples and impacts are drawn from the military, business and every day life.

Title of Speech:  “Why I Served”

Brief summary:  A touching and inspiring perspective on his military service recently retiring as a US Naval Reserve Captain.  With some light hearted humor, it includes a thread or two you might expect and a few you won’t.

Title of Speech:  “And Our Speaker Is…”

Brief Summary:  How to prepare for and deliver your next speech.  Emphasis is placed on emotional and physical preparation for presenting your next speech as well as specific delivery tips and techniques to enhance your next presentation.
