Online Club Meetings – Adjusting and refocusing:
A Toastmasters club provides its members with a safe and supportive environment to become better communicators, leaders, and public speakers. For many, their club gives them a sense of belonging. In light of the ongoing pandemic (COVID-19), many clubs are still not able to meet in person and are continuing to meet online to protect the safety and well-being of its members.
However, within this environment, clubs continually allow their members to pursue their goals and provide human interaction, that they might not otherwise get. Also, it has created an opportunity to develop another skill, virtual and even hybrid meeting standards and best practices.
Helpful resources can also be found on the home page of the www.toastmasters.org website.
Please note that the District strongly recommends that all district 18 clubs hold their club meetings virtually online or in a hybrid setting, for the safety and well-being of its members. However, please review your local municipality for in-person mandates. This district is here to assist when a virtual/hybrid platform and/or training is needed. Clubs can reach out to the district Trio at [email protected].
The District is also encouraging club officers to share their success stories and help clubs in their area who might need it.
