2017 – 2018 District 18 Incentives

Winter Incentives

December 1 – February 28 is the winter training window. We are offering these incentives for the 2018 winter season:

  • Qualification

  • If all 7 officer positions attend the winter TLI Club Officer training, and there are at least 5 people holding these roles (no more than 2 people holding 2 positions)
  • Clubs that have 4 or more officer positions attend the winter TLI Club Officer training
  • New clubs that chartered after July 1, 2017 – If 5 officer positions attend the winter TLI Club Officer training
  • Award

  • $50 in gift certificates to be used in the Toastmasters online store
  • Club name will be placed in a drawing with the chance to win these items:

    • 1st Place – 2 free registrations to the Spring Conference
    • 2nd Place – A set of advanced manuals for the club library
    • 3rd Place – A set of club officer pins

  • $25 in gift certificates to be used in the Toastmasters online store

Club Retention Incentives

  • Qualification

  • The current member count shown on the March month-end report is at least 85% of the member count shown on the January month-end report

    • Club count at January month-end must be greater than 6
    • Members must be paid through Sept 30, 2018
  • The current member count shown on the March month-end report is at least 110%
    of the member count shown on the January month-end report

    • Club count at January month-end must be greater than 6
    • Members must be paid through Sept 30, 2018
  • Award

  • The club will receive a $15 Toastmasters gift card
  • The club will receive a $25 Toastmasters gift card

NOTE: January report was finalized on the toastmasters.org on Feb 9, 2018. Toastmasters website states that the March reports will be available on April 13 report will be run on April 14th.

Ask your members to renew now and beat the April 1st date. Know you will lose members and striving for the 110% benchhmark? Run an open house!

We still have the open house incentive of a $30 max reimbursement. Also, the “Talk Up Toastmasters” member program runs February 1 – March 31 – get a ribbon for your banner!

Early DCP Achievement Incentive

  • Qualification

  • Achieve DCP status (5 or more goals and required membership count) by April 30th
  • Award

  • $35 gift card for a club celebratory party

NOTE: Toastmasters website states that the April final reports will be available on May 11th. The report will be run on May 12th.

Early DCP Achievement Incentive

  • Qualification

  • Be one of the first 25 members in the district to complete the requirements of level 1 in Pathways (one-time incentive program)
  • Earn a Competent Communicator for the first time (traditional program)
  • Complete level 2 in a path (first time)
  • Award

  • Pathways Medal or Pin
  • Toastmasters Mug or CC pin
  • Toastmasters Mug

NOTE: Awards must be listed on the educational achievements page of the Toastmasters dashboard.

Existing Incentives

  • Qualification

  • Earn a Competent Leader award (traditional program)
  • Earn an Advanced Communicator award (traditional program)
  • Club coach incentive

    • If your club qualifies for a coach (12 members or less)
    • You request a coachh (club must send the Club Growth Director a note requesting a coach)
    • The club reaches Distinguished status
  • Open house incentive

    Hold an open house and submit receipts for food, flyers, etc.

  • Award

  • Another Competent Leader book – see below on information on how to receive
  • Two more Advanced Communication manuals – see below on information on how to receive
  • The club will receive $50 in gift certificates to be used in the Toastmasters online store (Note: Incentive cannot be received in a consecutive year if received in the prior year)

    • These would be distributed by the Area Directors in August (after year-end results are final)
  • Up to $30 per open house is reimbursable. There is a limit of 2 open house reimbursements per club per year.

How to receive your CL or Advanced Manuals:

  • Achieve a new Advanced Communications award – an ACB, ACS, or ACG – and/or a Competent Leader award – a CL and have your VPE submit it to Toastmasters Internation (TI)
  • Forward the notifications email you receive from TI (“Education Award Confirmation” will be in the subject line) to [email protected]
  • Include your mailing address
  • For the Advanced Manual – include your choice of any two advanced manuals. See a complete list of all 15 advanced communication manuals here
  • Your manual(s) will be in the mail within a few days
